This documentary shares the story of a professional Puerto Rican musician Filiberto Ojeda Ríos who abandons his trumpet and family to live the clandestine life of an armed revolutionary for Puerto Rican independence. Filiberto (2018) follows the tragic tale of Filiberto Ojeda Ríos who was murdered by the FBI in 2005 for claiming freedom for Puerto Rico. His legacy lives among all freedom and anti-imperial fighters across the global south. This event is free and open to the public.  

This event is organized by the Caribbean Studies Research Cluster of the Research Center for the Americas.
